When you buy a notebook computer, take good
care of it is your responsibility, both in terms of personal finance,
professional information, for these portable devices, is increasingly important
to protect them.
The first problem is the problem of
placing. As soon as you purchase a laptop, buy a bag for it that will give the
laptop a snug fit. Just because the laptop is in a bag does not mean it will be
protected if it shifts around inside the bag. If you are unable to find a bag
where the laptop will fit in snugly, fill in the open spaces with large pieces
of foam padding to ensure that it is protected.
The second issue is security. If you are
concerned about your laptop being stolen, look into Lojack for laptops.
This software can help you get your laptop back if it is stolen. If your laptop
contains sensitive information, use the built in security features in
your operating system to help keep people out of your computer without a
password.
The third issue is the heat sink. Use a
cooling mat to help keep your laptop running cool. A hot laptop is MUCH more
likely to crash. I have used Lapworks mats and they work very well. They are
made of high quality material and can be easily transported (even the larger
mats). There are even some mats that come with mouse pad, so if you are
like me and need ot have a real mouse to use your computer, it acts like a
small portable desk.
The fourth problem is cleaning. Use a microfiber
cloth to keep your screen clean and to prevent scratches. This
will help keep the screen in tip top shape.
