Ideal computer space used is may not be disturbed by others, the computer is used. Make sure that the selected area has enough space and a few electrical outlets, not just for your device, but for a table lamp. If you send a fax from your computer, or connect to the Internet, you need to be near a phone jack.

Another thing you want to make sure is you do have the proper computer desk. It's best to be able to alter the height of the monitor and keyboard, and tuck the keyboard away when not in use. Your PC desk should be a comfortable height for typing so that the lower part of your arms are parallel to the floor.

After the space is ready for computer, the following items you want to make sure you have with your brand new computer when setting up:

- System unit also known as the hard drive. This is the part of your computer that connects everything together. Leave space so that you can plug in the cables easily. Don't leave cables trailing.

- Monitor. This houses the computer screen. Position your monitor to avoid reflections, but avoid facing a bright window yourself as this may lead to eyestrain.

- Keyboard. You must make sure your keyboard is on a stable and level surface within easy reach. Leave enough space in front for hands and wrists and ensure that the desk is at the correct height.

- Mouse. Place the mouse to the left or right of your keyboard to minimize arm movement. Use the mouse pad to create the correct amount of friction for the mouse, and be sure there is room to move the mouse back and forth.

- Printer. Position your printer near the system unit. Make sure there is sufficient space around it for loading the paper trays.

Make sure when you set up your computer, you have each part that is listed because knowing exactly where to place each of these parts will ensure a safe and efficient work area.
